FUNKY MONKEY BABY! My review of this awesome t-shirt!

Funky Monkey T-shirt

I'm loving this t-shirt!  This silk-screen printed unisex T-shirt  is so adorable and comfortable. I had people asking left and right where I got it.  I received it as a product review from

I wore this t-shirt all day in the hot sun and it kept me from a sunburn and I wasn't too hot. I love the design on the front, it's modern and fun.  My 11 year old even asked to have the t-shirt so she could use it as a nightgown.  Of course, I said no way!
I really recommend these t-shirts, they are a great quality and they wash very well. Sizes are from  S,M,L and XL.
The company makes custom t-shirts and I highly suggest to my friends that they buy these for their swag and contests :D   Awesome quality at great prices!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Toni's Review of Spirit of the Wolf By Vonna Harper ***3.5 Stars***

Passionate

A cattle rancher with a past he'd rather forget, Matt prefers to be alone. But that all changes the night he meets Cat. Her eyes, her lips, her body—he wants her. He needs her. . .

Primal

Unable to resist the attraction he feels for Cat, Matt takes her with a primitive passion he's never felt before. The sex is intense and wildly erotic, yet still he hungers for more. . .

Powerful

As he struggles to control his fierce desire, Matt begins to experience a strange kinship with the wolves who roam his lands. Like them, he longs to be wild and free—but can he take Cat with him, or must he leave her behind for a fate not even he understands. . .

********************

I’m giving “Spirit of the Wolf” 3.5 Stars.

Set in the high desert of central Oregon, where the land is harsh and the people are tough. Two people come together on a spiritual journey. Matt and Cat’s sexual attraction that is primal and raw. Both of them fear what is happening to them, but are unsure what to do about it.

Cat Alward as roamed all her life never setting down roots for very long. With no desire to take over her parents business she has an epiphany one day watching an older Indian work with horses. Starving for a home for her own, she purchases a small farm in remote Oregon. She now trains horses and works with people on their equestrian skills.

Matt Yaye is a cattle rancher with a past. Adopted son to Addie and Santo, he came to the ranch as a young troubled teenage boy. Now the ranch is everything to him. He loves the land and will do anything to protect his remote ranch. After the sudden death of Santo, Matt has felt something in the air, a coming storm. Determined to keep Addie and his ranch safe, Matt looks to the hills for clues.

Since the moment Cat and Matt met there were sparks, no more like explosions. The erotic pull to each other is unexplainable. Now there is proof that wolves have moved into the area, causing problems for the locals. Matt begins to change, but Cat can’t seem to drag herself away from him. Their once purely sexual relationship has taken on a whole new level, becoming even more erotic and dominate.

I have never read a story like “Spirit of the Wolf”. Maybe I was expecting a werewolf story or something paranormal in nature. This story is neither. It centers more on a legend of the local Paiute Indian tribe.

The feelings the book invoked in me were surprising. While I enjoyed the descriptions of the land and the legend I believe I just was not ready for the plot. I was surprised about the twist in the form of Cat and Matt’s sexual relationship. If anyone has a problem with forced seduction, I believe they will have a problem with this book. I tried to view the scenes in the context they were written. An alpha male taking his bitch, though it did take a bit of thought process to get there.

The ending was also a surprise for me. I was heading down a road that Ms. Harper was leading me and then BAM surprise!! I will give her that one. “Spirit of the Wolf” is a beautifully descriptive story. It captures the splendor of central Oregon and the struggles of the people. I do not know the validity of the legend told in the story, but it is an amazing take on an old legend. “Spirit of the Wolf” is a sensual journey into the heart of legends; showing us the power of the past and its effect on the present.

Toni's Review of Summer Friends By Holly Chamberlin ***3.5 Stars***

In this compelling novel set against the beautiful backdrop of Ogunquit, Maine, the bestselling author of Tuscan Holiday and One Week in December portrays an unexpected friendship, and its consequences for two very different women as time inevitably sweeps them into adulthood. . .

Over the course of one eventful summer, nine-year-old native Mainer Delphine Crandall and Maggie Weldon, a privileged girl "from away," become best friends. Despite the social gulf between them, their bond is strengthened during vacations spent rambling around Ogunquit's beaches and quiet country lanes, and lasts throughout their college years in Boston. It seems nothing can separate them, yet after graduation, Delphine and Maggie slowly drift in different directions. . .

With her MBA, Maggie acquires a lucrative career, and eventually marries. Delphine is drawn back home, her life steeped in family and the Maine community she loves. Twenty years pass, until one summer, Maggie announces she's returning to Ogunquit to pay an extended visit. And for the first time, the friends are drawn to reflect on their choices and compromises, the girls they were and the women they've become, the promises kept and broken—and the deep, lasting ties that even time can never quite wash away. . .

********************

“Summer Friends” is a story of love and friendship. What would you do to win a friend back? How long is too long to rekindle a friendship? Would you give up on life and love to do your family duty?

The innocence of first love and friendship can be destroyed in an instant. Delphine and Maggie couldn’t be more different as children. They become instant friends and the love and companionship seems to be strong and healthy until events unfold for these two young women. Questions are left unanswered and dreams are left unfulfilled. Two broken hearts drift apart, lonely and shattered.

Delphine Crandall is a woman who lives for her family and community. She feels secure and protected by all that is around her. Once a vivacious and seeming adventurous child, Delphine is now a stoic self sacrificing adult. What changed her perception in life? Delphine is content and happy at 49. That is until an old friend comes to visit. Her forgotten past that she buried away comes rushing back. Never wanting to revisit lost opportunities and regrets, Delphine does not welcome her friend back with open arms.

Maggie Weldon has a charmed life. She has a loving husband, two beautiful daughters and a fulfilling career. Something is missing and she believes she knows what it is, her friend Delphine. Her friend has always held a special place in her heart and she misses what they had. Never one to give up, Maggie decides to drag Delphine back into her life, even if she fights her the whole way. She knows what they had will last a lifetime and she is done waiting for Delphine to come to her.

Twenty years ago, Delphine walked away from a promising life and Maggie. The mystery of that departure has plagued both women, but in different ways. This story is about a journey of forgiveness and revelations. Ms. Chamberlin eases us through the years, from the beginning to the end. Taking us through the process of discovery that is frustrating and gratifying. Delphine’s reasons for her drastic change in early adulthood, is described in a slow thought out process. Maggie’s own discovery of her unsatisfying life is also revealed. Together the women realize what friendship is really about and come away stronger women.

“Summer Friends” is a thought provoking book. It makes you look at yourself in a different way, making you question past choices and decisions. While the book is a slow read I believe it works. Self reflection sometimes can’t be thrown in your face. You need to sit back and allow it to flow over you and sink in. Pick up “Summer Friends” to read about the beauty of commitment between two people that can last a lifetime.

Toni's Review of Wolf Tales 12 By Kate Douglas ***5 Stars***

The Final Chapter

Gifted with exceptional strength and extraordinary sensuality, the shapeshifting Chanku have learned to survive on their own, far away from their one true home in the mountains of Montana. But as the years pass, the packs begin to long for one another, for the incredible passion they enjoy together and for the erotic pleasure they find only with their own kind. . .

It is then they hear Anton's call. He has learned even more about the fascinating past of the Chanku. And the young girl, Lily, has made the most astonishing discovery of all. . .

The time has come for all Chanku to come together as one, to reclaim their primal past and to enter an amazing future that no one ever dreamed. Their epic journey is over, at least for now. . .

********************

Wolf Tales 12 is the conclusion of a wonderful saga. There are 12 full length novels and 9 short stories. It has been an epic journey and I feel sad but elated that the journey is complete.

Kate Douglas has led me on a sensual and beautiful voyage. I devoured the Wolf Tales books right from the get go. I would have to say I was lucky, because I came in the story late. Wolf Tales 11 was just coming out for release. I can’t imagine how hard it would have been to wait for each of the 20 stories after the first one was released. I delved right in the lives of the Chanku, a race of shape shifters. Enchanted by their love, loyalty and sexuality; Ms. Douglas took me to a place I have never been. She made me cry and shocked me; and I loved every moment of it.

Wolf Tales 12 takes place five years after #11. Change is in the air and after so many years of peaceful existence, the lives of the pack are going to be transformed into something no one ever expected.

Lily has always been a special child. Born to Anton and Keisha, the packs supreme alphas, Lily has always been a bit more. She is a precocious and brilliant child, an old soul at the age of six. Lily will usher the Chanku into a new existence.

The pack is planning to come together for a special occasion, the birth of a child. A time for celebration is marked with loss and fear of the unknown. Lily is on a quest to help her father and her pack. Her journey will bring everyone together like they have never been. Will the knowledge tear them apart or bring them together, stronger than ever?

This is a hard review to write. Wolf Tales 12 is not like the other novels in the series. You know the end is coming and you are hesitant for it to end. Ms. Douglas took me on a slow ride. She answered questions I didn’t even know I had. I was able to bury myself in the characters I have grown to know and love. The story was very well paced and the action didn’t take away from the plot. In fact, the story was like a cup of cocoa; hot, rich and oh so soothing. It hit the spot. I ended the story craving more but I was very satisfied.

Well done Kate Douglas on a book series that has been an utter joy to read and will have a permanent home in my collection.

Thanks for reading!! Toni

Toni's Review of Slow Burn By E.B. Walters ***4.5 Stars***

She doesn’t want to deal with the past...

Ten years ago, Ashley Fitzgerald witnessed the death of her parents in a tragic fire and blocked the memory. She pretends to have moved on, is a successful artist and photographer, until the morning she opens her door to a stranger she assumes is a model and asks him to strip to his briefs .

He wants to expose the truth....

Wealthy businessman Ron Noble has the body, the jet, the fast cars and the women, but he hides a deadly secret. His father started the fire that killed Ashley’s parents. Now someone is leaving him clues that could exonerate his father and they lead to Ashley’s door. Blindsided by the blazing attraction between them and a merciless killer silencing anyone who was there the night of the fire, Ron dare not tell Ashley the truth. Yet the answer he seeks may very well tear them apart.

While a demented arsonist...SLOW BURN(s)...and plots his ultimate revenge.

********************

A tragic incident from the past brings two people together. One wants to find out the truth from that night and the other wants to move on and forget the ghosts of the past. Neither asked for the circumstances that shaped their lives, but both will persevere and become stronger because of it.

Ashley Fitzgerald has a large loving family, but she is alone. She lost her parents in an awful fire a decade ago. She is only able to remember fragments of that night. It has haunted her for too long and she wants to move on, but is unable to. Her plan is to buy the property where her parents died and totally demolish the house, the memories and the pain.

Ron Noble does not believe his father started the fire that killed him and Ashley’s parents. Ron has never really believed it. Now he is getting messages for him to investigate the fire. There are secrets buried and he is determined to find out what really happened the night his father died. Ashley’s name is mentioned in one of the notes and he is determined to find out what she knows.

A mystery waiting to be solved a decade later brings these two people together. There is people out there that will do anything to keep the secrets buried. Ashley and Ron must work together to stay alive and to find the truth. People involved from that night are dying and Ashley and Ron are running out of time.

“Slow Burn” is a great mystery. Sad circumstances bring these two heartbroken people together. While working side by side, they discover that they have more in common than just that night. Passion ignites hotter than the fire that ruined their lives. If they are not careful, they will get burned by the secrets of the past.

I truly enjoyed “Slow Burn”. I’m normally not a big mystery fan, but the action and the romance kept me interested. Ms. Walters wrote amazing characters that kept me captivated and I just couldn’t tear myself away from them. “Slow Burn” was a real page turner for me and I can’t wait to read more about the amazing Fitzgerald family.

The Magic Bag!!!
MAGIC BAG Thermotherapeutic pack (size: 9.5'' X 11'')MAGIC BAG Thermotherapeutic pack(19''X 5.5'')

I know this isn't my usual style review but I have begun reviewing products besides books.  The Magic Bag is by far one of my favorite products.

Product Description

The Magic Bag has become staple in many households around the world. Use it once and you won't want to do without it. This all natural hot/cold compress is simple, can be used hot or cold and can be used over and over again. For warm use, simply heat it in the microwave oven and for cold use, freeze it first. If you need heat to relax, heat to help soothe pain or cold to help soothe swelling or inflammation, this is the compress for you. The square format of our compress fits perfectly in the small of the back or comfortably covers the stomach area, where it can reduce muscle tension, soothe cramps and promote relaxation with its penetrating warmth. Keep a compress in the freezer for cooling relief of those unexpected headaches.
The Magic Bag is a staple product in my home and gets used quite often.  I suffer from arthritis and fibro.  When the aches and pains become too much to bare I put a magic bag in the microwave for 2 minutes and then put it on the sore area.
It always soothes the spot or at least relaxes me enough to fall asleep and sleep away some of the pain.
I also use one when I get migraines.  I take it out of the freezer and lay it on my head.  No worries of making a mess with melting ice or having to worry the contents is to cold to put directly on my skin.
There are other reasons we use it to.  For that time of the month, bellyaches, and sprains.
In the winter time it's great to warm up and place at the foot of the bed to warm the blankets before crawling in lol and it works great to help relax our son. We give him the Magic bag warmed up for about a minute in the microwave and he cuddles it and often falls asleep.
This bag is truly awesome and helps in so many ways, if you don't believe me try it!  For all it does the price is amazing!

Scott Prussing, Author of Breathless

Create Your Own Book Trailer – Easily!

People love book trailers. Having an intriguing trailer is one of the best promotional tools you can have for your book. But hiring someone to create a professional trailer is expensive. Luckily, you can create your own professional looking trailer fairly easily by following a few simple steps. Believe me, I know. I had absolutely no experience with slideshows or overlaying text onto images or any of that stuff before I began making my trailer, and I think it came out pretty darn good. And I enjoyed doing it!

Step 1-- Collect some art.

Before you can start putting a trailer together, you need some nice looking art. The obvious place to begin is with your book’s cover image (and any creative versions of it you might have), but you’ll need more than that. Look everywhere you can think of for images that match the tone of your book (my book Breathless is a paranormal romance, so I collected spooky pictures of the moon and clouds, dark forests, magical looking trees, fire, caves, sunsets, etc.). Start by looking through your own pictures. Ask your friends if they have any images you could use. Do a Google search for “public domain images” to find sites filled with pictures you can use without cost and without violating any copyrights. You won’t actually use more than a small percentage of the images you gather, but it helps the creative process to have a nice collection to choose from.

Step 2 – Find a website for free, do-it-yourself videos and slideshows.
I used OneTrueMedia.com. Start by creating an account for yourself, and then upload any pictures you think you might use. The instructions at OTM are pretty easy to follow. Start with the basics. How long do you want each image to remain on the screen? Do you want it to zoom in or out, or pan side to side or up and down? Using these will add “movement” to your trailer, making it much more interesting. OTM makes it easy to preview what each will look like. Once you’ve gotten the hang of it, you can play with the many “special effects” offered here. This site also has lots of free background music you can choose from.

Step 3 – Add text to your trailer.

I recommend you create a basic video to work with BEFORE you start adding text to the images, but that’s just my preference. There are two ways to go with text: you can add text directly onto your images, or you can put your text on blank slides that you will intersperse with the images. I like putting the words onto images, but that’s a personal choice.
I used picnik.com to add my text. It’s pretty simple to use. You don’t even have to create an account. Upload the first picture you want to add text to. Click the “Create” tab, then the “Text” tab. Choose a font from the menu and type your text in the box. (Hint: adding the text to the image a little at a time in small phrases, rather than complete sentences, will allow you to better control the placement of your text. You’ll see what I mean when you begin doing this.) Click “Add” and the text will appear on your image along with a control panel for text size, color and positioning.
Once you have the text the way you want it, save the image to your computer and then upload it to OneTrueMedia. Place it in its proper spot (usually replacing the identical image with no text, but you might want to keep both, to have the image show first by itself, and then having the text appear on it).

Step 4 – Final editing.
When you have created all your text slides and imported them to OneTrueMedia, you can start experimenting with different effects for your trailer to see what looks best. Take your time and try lots of things—heck, it’s free! And fun. Don’t get too carried away with your trailer, though. The ideal length for a book trailer is somewhere between a minute and a minute and a half. Shorter is better, but remember, any images with text need to remain long enough for slow readers to read them.

Step 5 – Exporting your trailer.

OneTrueMedia makes it easy to export your finished trailer. You can email it to friends, send it to your Facebook page, and/or send it to YouTube. You can even order a DVD, but that costs money. One tip: before you send your trailer anywhere, make sure you hit the “update version” tab, so you will be sending the latest version (this one caught me a few times!).

Just follow the basic steps above and you will have created a fun, professional looking trailer you can use to promote your book. Both OneTrueMedia and Picnik.com offer lots of other effects and tools that I haven’t even looked at, but you can feel free to experiment with them. Happy creating!

Book Blurb

Breathless is a modern fantasy romance in the mode of Twilight and Vampire Diaries, but it’s filled with enough new twists to excite even the most devoted fans.
Weston College freshman Leesa Nyland has been fascinated by vampires since she was three years old. That’s when her mom started acting weird, refusing to go outside during the day and insisting the sunlight hurt her skin because she’d been bitten by a one-fanged vampire.
But fascinated doesn’t mean Leesa believes. Any more than she believes in blue fire, people who live for centuries, and kisses that can kill. But when her beloved older brother suddenly disappears, she is forced to confront all these and more. She also has to figure out what to do about her mysterious new boyfriend. She knows Rave likes her a lot—so why won’t he kiss her?
As Leesa draws closer to finding her brother, she faces some gut-wrenching decisions. Should she risk her mom’s life trying to “cure” her? Should she continue seeing Rave, after he reveals his dangerous secret? And most terrifying of all, should she make the ultimate sacrifice—give up her humanity—in order to save her brother?

Toni's Review of Never Cry Wolf By Cynthia Eden - ***4 Stars***

Lucas Simone is not the kind of guy you mess with. He's big, he's strong, and his eyes hint at a wilder side most women can't handle. Of course, that's because his predatory instincts are no metaphor-he's a genuine Grade-A top-quality werewolf, tough enough to fight his way to dominance over the scariest pack on the West Coast. There's only one chink in his armor. Unlike most alpha dogs, Lucas has a reputation for protecting the weak and innocent.

Sarah King is counting on that protective impulse-it's the only thing standing between her and certain death. There are only two problems: one, she's not quite as innocent as she'd like Lucas to believe. And two, if he doesn't stop stoking Sarah's animal lust, it's only a matter of time before her own wild side gets unleashed...

********************

First off, I would like to clear up some confusion. At least I was confused. “Never Cry Wolf” is not part of the Night Watch series, though it does take place in the same universe. It DOES occur after “Immortal Danger”, but doesn’t seem to be part of an actual series. I know confusing, right? “Never Cry Wolf” can be read alone, but after reading it, I do plan to go out and get “Immortal Danger”. It sounds like a great read.

Lies, deception and death. All three follow Sarah and she needs the help of a strong alpha to save her life. These are three things Lucas will not tolerate in his life.

Sarah King is not what she seems. At first glance she is all innocence and defenselessness. Sarah has many secrets and to save herself she can’t let them be known. Sarah has reasons to be scared. Her ex is after her and he has a hefty price on her head. Every supernatural wants to collect and she is in dire need of a protector. She knows the LA pack alpha has a reputation of protecting the innocent and that is what she is counting on.

Lucas Simone is alpha through and through. He will protect what is his and his pack. With a past born of pain and blood, he has zero tolerance of brutality of the weak and innocent. When Sarah comes into his life, he knows she is trouble at first site. Their relationship begins on a lie and that is something he will not stand for. His pack is in danger and he will do anything to protect them and Sarah is the key to do just that. He just needs to prove to her that she can trust him.

What these two find is not what they expected. They will need to learn to trust each other and that is not easy for either of them. The stakes are high and together they need to work together to survive. Problem is…they are surrounded by deception. Who can they trust? No one is who or what they seem. Through all of the chaos, Sarah and Lucas find something in each other, their missing pieces. Is the passion going to be enough, when one is lying to the other and the other knows it?

“Never Cry Wolf” is action packed from the start. Passion runs high and suspense and mystery is always lurking in the shadows. Ms. Eden has written a well developed story that keeps you guessing the whole way through. I am really enjoying all the different factions of her paranormal universe. She has developed a well laid out world that is consistent and extremely enjoyable. I hope to read more from Ms. Eden in the future.

Toni's Review of Changeling Dream By Dani Harper - ***4 Stars***

In times of stress Jillian Descharme has always found calm in her dream of a great white wolf with haunting blue eyes. But she is startled when the visions return and this time seem so real. Late at night he comes to her, speaks to her, touches her. It’s almost as if he’s alive…

Thirty years ago James Macleod lost his wife and unborn child to a killer bent on destroying the Changelings. Though he longed for death, his animal instinct fought for survival and James has been a wolf ever since. Yet now a woman has reawakened the man in him, taming wild instincts but arousing still wilder needs. With his ancient enemy hunting the legendary white wolf, James must fight for new life, new hope, new love.

********************

“Changeling Dream” is book two, following fast on the heels of book one “Changeling Moon” (see prior review). “Changeling Dream” is set in northern Alberta, Canada, in Dunvegan. The area has been home of a Changeling pack for many decades. This series centers on the Macleod’s.

Jillian Descharme has a painful past. With a little help from a savior, she is able to move past the pain and move on. She is now a veterinarian, and truly enjoys her job. With a new life and changes ahead of her, this strong woman takes on many new and exciting challenges. Though there is one she can do without, one that takes on the form of a Viking warrior.

James Macleod knows sorrow and pain. For thirty years, he has run fast and far from it. Back then he lost everything he loved, his wife and unborn child. He may know sorrow and pain, but in all those years he has never dealt with it. James is reluctant to heal, but it is time. His wolf is ready to move on and with a lot of help, he will.

Jillian’s past comes back in a surprising way. Years before, after an attack, she is saved by a beautiful white wolf. Well over a decade later, the wolf is back…but how? James is a Changeling, but for the last thirty years he has been living his life completely as a wolf. He is drawn back home and to a blonde beauty. He just can’t seem to understand why.

“Changeling Dreams” is a book of healing. The injury is very old and it takes most of the book to fix it. The story is slow and steady, but in a good way. The healing is believable. There is no wonder drug or epic mind shattering revelation and WHAM James is all better. The journey you take with James is convincing and subtle. There are no quick fixes and that is what makes the journey so heartwarming.

This storyline is what makes “Changeling Dream” different from your normal fast paced, sex filled paranormal read. Ms. Harper is dealing with feelings and emotions on a different level. She wrote a believable plot and was consistent and meticulous in regards to James’ healing. I enjoyed that I was able to tag along with him. Yes, I wanted the action and the sex, but after reading the whole story I understood that it was not what James and Jillian needed. In the end, I applaud Ms. Harper for staying true to James. I will be waiting patiently for the next installment, “Changeling Dawn” coming out January 2012.

Close ups!!!

I'm so excited! Now everyone can see the makeup I did for the photoshoot last month. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask :)

Her makeup had already been done by Sarah Jane Flemming and she need a small change for this photo, so I   added a bronze shine to her eyes and highlighted her brow a bit more.  Her lipstick had come off so I put a light pink Sally gloss on her.

For this look I used Avon's blue quad and some craft snowflakes and beads.  I started with concealer which I used to cover under her eyes and freckles just a bit.  I then used a mineral foundation to take away any shine. Some blue liner and black mascara.  A natural pink lipgloss to finish the look :)

For this look I started in the same way as the last with concealer and mineral foundation.  I then used

NYX 5 Color Shadow - I Dream Of Aruba (Can be purchase from makeupgeek.com/store)  I used Loreal's mineral blush and Rimmel's neutral lipgloss.

For this model I did the same process except I darkened her brows because they were very light.  I then gave her bright eyes with NYX mineral Ultra Shadows in a bright green and metallic purple. Elongated eyeliner line and lots of black eyeliner.  Loreal Mineral blush to give her cheeks dimension and some pink lipgloss to finish.
This last look is by far my favorite.  I left her makeup as is but added some prints to the sides of her eyes.

I adored the experience in it's entirety and would love to do it again.  I hope you all like the looks!
HUGS!

Abduction
Book 1 in The Ishadarian Saga
By Alexandra O’Hurley
Abduction (Ishadarian Saga)

Excerpt….    Besh moved to the front of the room and demanded everyone but the owner leave immediately. The customers and staff quickly exited, fleeing the unknown of what was about to happen in the small café, turning to look over their shoulders as they escaped.

Besh then turned to the woman who remained in the doorframe that evidently exited to the kitchens. She was tall for an Earth female and he could sense that she was holding herself up using the support of the doorframe, trying to not show her fear. But she was given away by the slight tremor he witnessed in her knees. As he approached her, he caught a scent of something that stirred his blood and made his heart start to beat loudly in his ears.

He had never smelled something like it before, it was not unpleasant, nor unwelcome, but it was affecting him in a way he could not understand. Was this something coming from the kitchens? He stopped short of the woman as the smell caused him to become weak-kneed himself.“Bring…my men…food and water…now, “ he struggled to bark at the woman in front of him, being short not out of rudeness, but uncertainty of what was drugging his mind and body.

The last thing he saw before his vision began to swim was her wide brown-eyed look before she shot back through the door. He turned to his second in command, Dar Jin, to ask if he also noted the same drugged feeling. He gripped Dar by the upper arm and dragged the man to a corner and spoke in hushed tones to hide this sudden weakness from his men.“Do you smell that, Dar?”Dar sniffed at the air around them twice and then turned to face his commander, “Smell what sir?”“That smell…that sweet, sweet smell.

It is driving me insane. I feel like I am drugged…my heart is rushing and my body feels weak, yet I feel excited all at the same time, like every cell in my body is on fire.” Besh paused shaking his head, wondering if he was just suffering from the excessive heat. “It is starting to subside now, but a moment ago I felt like I could fall to my knees.”“Ah sir…I don’t smell or sense anything out of the ordinary. I can’t give you any explanation for what you sense, but it almost sounds like…..” Dar’s eyes had opened wide as he paused, unwilling to go on, as if suddenly afraid.“Like what, Dar?” Besh felt Dar’s hesitation in answering him.“It sounds like…. Daya N’goul”“Dar, that can’t be. There is no Ishadarian woman here, so how could it be Daya N’goul?”……………………..

Besh the heir to the empire of Ishadaria is leading the troops exploring earth. The entire time feeling there was more there for him. Kaya a café owner has a love for cooking. With few friends and no family, Kaya has no life but work. When Besh enters her café, Kaya has no idea what is in store for her future. Besh cannot explain the feelings that over power him when he is near Kaya so he orders men to drug her and abduct her to take back to their home planet, wondering if it is Daya N’goul?

When first reading this book, I was not sure how I would feel about it. I do not really read paranormal fiction. Now I am wondering, what is wrong with me? I loved this book! By the end I was mad because I did not have the second one!
The men! I can only imagine what these huge men would truly look like except drop dead gorgeous! Talk about MUSCLES and STRENGTH galore! The women are pure beauty too! With long hair, nails, and beautiful clothes!
It is just one HOT, HOT, HOT book! The imagery Alexandra O’Hurley creates is one of a kind. Who would not want to live on these beautiful planets? I recommend reading this saga to learn how beautiful this world is! As for myself, I cannot wait to continue reading this saga!

Please Welcome Author Lisa Beth Darling!

Introducing Lisa Beth Darling and her Character Interview!!! Come and read it! Also it's AWESOME!

We're here today on a secluded Greek Isle with Ares God of War. The brawny 7 foot God before me is leisurely lounging across his Throne of Bones, his long muscular legs draped over one arm. All around us fires burns, the massive hearth behind me is fed by small trees, while in the corners of his dark cave torches burn bringing an eerie glow to the grim surroundings. Everywhere I look there is a weapon of some kind; sword, dagger, arrows, halberds, and of course, guns. The other 'decorations' consist of armor; brightly polished shields, breastplates, and helmets glow in the firelight to remind to be cautious and courteous to the drop-dead gorgeous man staring at me with smoldering onyx eyes.

Lisa: Just wondering, but, why aren't we conducting this interview on Olympus today?

Ares: Suffice it to say that, my Family and I don't get along. Besides, if you went to Olympus with me willingly then there'd be nothing to prevent you from staying a lot longer than you expected.

Lisa: But you do live on Olympus, don't you?

Ares: I do now, this is my…home away from home (he says with a sly smile)…where I come to think and get away from their bickering and back stabbing. (The God of War waves a heavy hand in the air) Enough of them ask me something else.

Lisa: (Swallowing hard) Sure…you've been alive for a long time—and you're in amazing shape, truly first rate.

Ares: (Snickers) Thank you, at my age, just over five thousand years, I have to work at it but, the package is holding us nicely, wouldn't you say?

Lisa: Definitely.  (There's an animal magnetism about him, something drawing me to close to him and whispering my own primal desire to touch him, run my hands wildly along his exposed chest—must be professional, can't think about that, on with the interview.)

Lisa: Being so old, are you wealthy? Do you even have any need for money?

Ares: I'm a God, I don't need anything but, when one has hung around this planet as long as I have, one can't help but amass wealth. Yes, in the world of Mortal Men, I am very rich.

Lisa: So why come here? Why not buy a mansion for your getaway instead of this hovel? (Instantly I know I've made a mistake, as the God of War stop lounging, swings those tree-trunk legs off the arm of his Throne of Bones, and leans in close to stare at me with smoldering eyes.)

Ares: Hovel?

Lisa: Well, I just meant…well…it is a cave. It's very nice…for a cave.

Ares: (Snarl. His upper lips curls and then settles as he shakes his head.) I have many homes from mansions to small cabins all over the world. I have a full fleet of vehicles, mostly expensive fast cars and motorcycles, I have yachts, a helicopter, a speedboat, and many other mortal toys.

Lisa: Motorcycles? Speedboats? Thrill seeker, Lord Ares? Why? You're a God, you can do whatever you want.

Ares: And I have, a thousand times over. On Olympus they get their kicks by gossiping and stabbing each other in the back. Down here life is fragile, fleeting, Mortals love to test their limits—I like to do that too. Besides, you know, sometimes, ya just gotta have a little fun. Satisfied, woman?

Lisa: (Not yet, but um….) Speaking of satisfaction, I hear there's something particularly interesting about you.
(With purpose and delight I cast my eyes toward that bulge in leather pants and wonder if what I've heard is true. The snarl on his face turns to a grin and then a wicked little smile that makes my heart jump.)

Ares: I take it you've heard about the enormity of my manhood and that I can control the size of my cock. Yes?

Lisa: (My mouth starts to water and all I can do is nod. I've heard that when his staff is at its full potential its nearly the size of a Louisville Slugger.)

Ares: It's true, I can control it, length and breadth, to suit the woman below me. It's more of a …precaution than anything else. I'm so well-endowed that not many mortal women can take me, I can only achieve full sexual satisfaction with a Goddess, that's why I, up until very recently, I kept a constant stable of eight women around me, at my disposal, whenever, wherever, however, I wanted them.

Lisa: (The subject is at hand and I just have to know, so I whisper;) They say women die in your bed, is that true?

Ares: It's not my fault (he's almost apologetic about it) as I said, not many mortal women can take me and, on occasion, I've been known to become overzealous. I tend to make love with as much zest as I war, after all the two are so closely related. They may have died from internal blunt force trauma, but I assure you, they all died smiling.

Lisa: I bet

Ares: Excuse me?

Lisa: Ah, nothing. (I can't tell if it's the hearth or the God but it's suddenly very warm in here, I feel sweat breaking out on my forehead—before I know it--) I think I could take you.

Ares: (Sits further forward and licks his lips, he's so close the musky masculine scent of him is filling my head to forbidden thoughts) Do you?

Alena: I don't think so.
(A woman's voice has broken the tension and I tear my eyes away from Ares to see that a very pregnant woman has entered the room. She's very beautiful with her long silver/gray hair, alabaster skin, and stormy eyes.)

Ares: (Smiles wide, making his smoldering eyes sparkling, as he stands and holds his hand out to the woman.) Ah, Alena, my lovely Wife. (Taking her hand, and kissing her cheek, he sits her on his Throne of Bones) Thanks to her no more women die in my bed, she is the only one I desire, but your offer was tempting.

Lisa: When is the baby due?

Alena: Any day now

Ares: She's supposed to be resting on Olympus, Raven—our Son here—has been giving his mother much trouble.

Alena: (Looks up at her husband with love in her gray eyes) I missed you.

Lisa: Well, I won't keep you any longer then. Thank you very much for spending this time with us today, Lord Ares and you too, Lady Alena, for coming to grace us with your presence. I wish you both all the best with your blessed event.

Ares: I'm sure you'll be reading all about it soon.

Excerpt:
**
Lost in the heat of battle, Ares cocked his arm back and brought the sword down with all of his might once more expecting to have it bounce off but instead it went through. It pierced through the gut of the Druid in front of him. The man fell to his knees clutching the wound while gurgling sounds rose thickly from his dying throat. Pulling the sword back quickly, Ares struck the shield once more and it shattered completely, leaving those below it open and nearly defenseless.
Ten against four, those were good odds.
The Druid scattered, their main goal having suddenly gone from Capture and Return to Mere Survival. All those engaged in battle were mere inches from each other; most of the guns abandoned in favor of daggers and bare hands as opponents wrestled to the death on the beach beneath the emerging blanket of stars.
Adrian was old but he was still strong and full of dark magick. He had served Cernunnos for nearly a thousand years and had no plans to fail the Great Horned God at this most important task. Summoning all of the magick within him and focusing it through the large oak staff. The clear quartz crystal on the top began to glow with an eerie Dark Light; he brought forth a bolt of energy from deep within the Earth itself. Pointing the staff directly at the God of War and throwing back his other hand so that his old chest jutted forward he let out a commanding cry of power. A wide bolt of black light leapt out from the center of the crystal that had been clear. It crackled through the heavy leather armor to pierce Ares through the heart. It went through the thick leather, past the heavy studs, and right into Ares’ chest burning a hole through the flesh and deep into the body beyond.
Pain, bright, vivid, and agonizing, ripped through Ares toned body as the force of the jolt threw him twenty feet into the air and fifty feet back. He crashed to the ground at Alena’s feet clutching his chest and struggling to get air into his lungs. His face was ashen and his mouth gaping like a fish out of water. Alena wanted nothing more than to drop to her knees at her side, take him into her arms, and offer all of assistance she could. However, the most assistance she could offer now was not comfort but her own courage. Alena stood at Ares feet between the God of War and the Old Druid Adrian. “I remember you.” She hissed.
“I remember you.” Adrian returned slyly. “Defending Ares will only make Cernunnos madder.”
“You shouldn’t have come here.” Alena said through gritted teeth. “You never should have come for him.” Alena growled like a mama grizzly bear as she drew the gladius at her side.
Lying there helpless on the sand, unable to move and barely able to breathe, Ares watched Alena charge forward, sword drawn back to the right of her head her gray hair flying in the wind. Few people ever put their lives on the line for him in a such a willing or courageous manner.
Adrian let another dark bolt of energy fly from the staff but Alena was expecting it she waited for it and easily ducked down, letting it fly over her head, when it came forth. Small and strong, she came in low and deep, bringing the blade up, she severed Adrian’s hand. It, along with the staff, fell to the sand twitching. “I always hated you.” Alena whispered to the Old Druid with his mouth gaping open as he took in the sight of his missing hand and the blood gushing forth from where it once been. She brought the sword back and plunged it forward through his heart. “Always.” Alena gave the sword a good clockwise twist splitting Adrian’s heart in two before pulling it free of his dying body.
Mouth still agape, Adrian fell dead at her feet.
