Gothic Vampire Costume Review

Image
Watch out! This Adult Plus Sultry Sorceress Costume might just put a spell on you because it could be all yours. This outfit comes with a black gown. The floor-length black gown comes with an attached black hood. The bell-styled sleeves fan out to provide mobility and fun. With slits in the skirt of the dress, you can tease and tantalize your luscious legs, maybe with a pair of black fishnet pantyhose purchased on this site. The Sultry Sorceress Costume fits most women between the sizes of 16W and 24W. Use the power that comes with this outfit to control the tempo and flow of your next Halloween party or event.  I love the  Halloween Adventure store!  They have many amazing great quality costumes.  I was given the opportunity to review a costume of my choice and I chose the above costume.   It only took 5 business days to arrive!  That was impressive because the mail is usually so slow. My daughter was just as excited a...

SUMMER SKIN TIPS

Image
Hey all!  Here's a few tips for you summer skin woes! Your skin's likely going through a lot this summer. Between the sunshine, chlorine, saltwater, sweat and heat, it can be tough to get your glow on. Try these simple tricks and your skin will thank you. Count to 60 before you rinse off cleanser. That's how long it takes to work, says David E. Bank, M.D., a dermatologist in Mount Kisco, New York. Touch your face. Derms say that massaging while you moisturize ups circulation for a healthy radiance. Wear lipbalm in the shower. Apply a thick coat, hop in; let the steam do its thing. Then gently wipe off dead loosened skin cells with a washcloth for seriously silky lips.

Make up Look, Purple! Making any Eye Colour POP!

Image
Hey all!  I decided to do another makeup look, yes I know it's been a long time since my last one. I have been super busy with life, but decided to take a time out today and do some makeup. Here's a look that will make any eye colour pop.  It's a Smoky Purple and Grey.  On the inner corner of the eye I used white, middle it a shiny grape colour and on the outer corner blended up is a shiny black turned grey.  I then lined my eyes with a shimmery purple pencil (waterline and all)  then on top I lined it with some black shadow (not the waterline).  I then added some blue black mascara to finish it off. My cheeks and lips just have a bit of pink :D Of course the colours on camera never turn out the same because of the lighting and I'm no professional photographer lol.  Hope you like my latest makeup look!  If you ever have questions.... Don't hesitate to ask! Leanne

Review of Cheyenne's Designs Mineral Makeup

Image
Cheyenne's Designs Mineral Makeup I recently received some Mineral Eyeshadow from Cheyenne's Designs to try out and review.  I received it in a well protected package and the samples were well packaged also.  They came in nice small black jars instead of baggies.  To me that's a plus. After I opened the jars I smelled the product because honestly I can't stand cosmetics that have a strong smell.  This product had little to no smell at all. I then tested the colours on my hand to see what the consistency was and pigment.  I was extremely happy and excited to see that each colour was very well pigmented and easy to blend.  I was even more excited to see a black that is a true black, they are hard to find.   I hadn't found one before that didn't turn blue when taking a picture of it.   Here is the swatches of the colours I was sent to review. As you can see in the picture these colours are gorgeous and very pigmented, which is what most...

Aloette – Skin Care & Makeup Review and Giveaway

Image
I recently had the opportunity to test and review an awesome skin care product.  I absolutely love it!  The brand is Aloette and I was given a package called AloePure. The Package was comprised of Gentle Foaming Cleanser, Restorative Enzyme Peel, and Skin Refining Toner .   I started by trying the Enzyme Peel, I spread it over my face in an upward manner and then let it be for a few minutes.  I then rinsed it off.  The smell of the product was quite nice, calming.  Then I used the Gentle Foaming Cleanser, washing my face from the neck up in an upward motion.  Up and Out. Small circles. When I finished washing, I rinsed it off thoroughly.   I feel a good toner that smells nice and not like alcohol is very important.  Aloette's Toner smelled wonderful and not too strong.  I applied it all over my face using a cotton pad.  From neck to forehead. My face felt very clean and rejuvenated when I was done.  I lo...

Flamingo Halloween Makeup Look

Image
Here was my original idea for a Flamingo Makeup look. Here is how it turned out. I don't like the lashes though, they were very hard to work with and apply.  That's why they are crooked lol Hope you like! This look was all done with Mae Minerals.  I decided to tone down this look and turn it into a day to day makeup look also.

Back to the 80's then brought it back to 2011

Image
I have decided to start working on Halloween makeup looks and the first look I did was an 80's Pop Star look.  Now, this is what my daughter is going to be for Halloween and I will most likely do the same look for her but add a lightening bolt to her cheek. Here it is on paper. For the look I did I did a full foundation and primer all over, darkened my eyebrows because they are naturally blonde.  I also contoured my face to make my cheeks more prominent.  For most of my makeup I used  Mae Minerals . Here are some pictures of me in my 80's look for Halloween minus the lightening bolt. When I was done doing this look I wondered to myself if it would be possible to take this 80's look back to 2011.  I cleaned off a little bit of the colour and blended the blue (Peace from Mae Minerals) and I'm good for the day.  I managed to make an old look new :) Well that's my first Halloween look for the season, the rest will be a lot more intricate be sure keep an...

Halloween Makeup Looks

Image
Hi All! I've been working on ideas for Halloween, I was supposed to do a look today but wanted to work on my ideas a little further. In order to work out these ideas I tried them on paper first.   Here are a few: This is the makeup look I've come up with for my daughter.  She will be dressed up as a 80's Pop Star. This is my Flamingo look in real life this look will have Hot pink Feather lashes with it. This is the Lizard look.  I will add more colour on the eye with the circles and regular black fake lashes. Well these are a few looks that I'll be doing in real life and will be posting from now to Halloween.  I also will be using a lot of Mae Minerals products, I'll be sure to add a link where you can buy them if you want to. Hope you enjoyed my looks! Leanne

Pin-Up Makeup Tutorial!

Image
Pin-up Makeup Tutorial The key role of the Pin up during World War II- to keep soldiers’ ‘morale’ up and distract them from the risk of death.   Over a hundred years, pin up history and pin ups themselves have been an inspiration to contemporary art and fashion. So my topic today is Pin-up Makeup and how to achieve this look because once again it is very in style. To start this look you want your skin tone to be very even and clear.  The bet way to achieve this is to: Apply concealer under your eyes and to all your blemishes and red spots. This includes around the base of your nose. Apply foundation and help blend your concealer to the foundation. Contour your face.  Use a colour that is 2 shades darker then your natural tone and shade in the hollows of your cheek. You can find them by sucking in your cheeks and making a fishy face.lol  When shading be sure to blend very well, your not suppose to see any lines, it should blend into you foundation but at t...

Close ups!!!

Image
I'm so excited! Now everyone can see the makeup I did for the photoshoot last month. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask :) Her makeup had already been done by Sarah Jane Flemming and she need a small change for this photo, so I   added a bronze shine to her eyes and highlighted her brow a bit more.  Her lipstick had come off so I put a light pink Sally gloss on her. For this look I used Avon's blue quad and some craft snowflakes and beads.  I started with concealer which I used to cover under her eyes and freckles just a bit.  I then used a mineral foundation to take away any shine. Some blue liner and black mascara.  A natural pink lipgloss to finish the look :) For this look I started in the same way as the last with concealer and mineral foundation.  I then used   NYX 5 Color Shadow - I Dream Of Aruba ( Can be purchase from makeupgeek.com/store )   I used Loreal's mineral blush and Rimmel's  neutral ...
