Hello my friends!  We have been incrediably lucky this Holiday Season.  Books Read 'N' Makeup Done has been sponsored by Kensington for this awesome Blog Hop!

I decorated this Holiday season in blues, silvers and greens.  My tree was done by Dec. 1st,  I did it a little early because what's the use of doing all that work for only a few days lol.

Here's a pic of my Christmas Tree.



For 12 years now I have been painting little houses to make up a full village.  I usually paint about 2 or 3 a year.  You can see them next to the tree.  I love that I did them all myself, it gives me a sense of accomplishment.

Usually Christmas shopping gets me in the mood. Once it's all done, and everything is wrapped and under the tree, I'm all happy and full of good cheer - mostly because I know I don't have to fight the crowds anymore, lol!

My mom and I always get together the weekend before Christmas to bake Christmas cookies together! Lots of laugh and fun times!

One of our traditions is to set up tree and decorate the weekend after Thanksgiving. I also mail out our Christmas cards too. We bake 20-30 different cookies and make goodie baskets to give to family and friends. Christmas is my favorite holiday. Thanks for this giveaway. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Each year we make Chex Mix from scratch using our own recipe that we have tweaked over the years. To me it isnt Christmas time until the house smells like Chex Mix :)

What a beautiful family Christmas tree, Leanne! You did a wonderful job and I love the color scheme. And I love how you painted your own village. It's something your children will treasure as they grow and raise their own children.

One family tradition we have in my family is to set up the Christmas tree on Thanksgiving evening after the big meal. This year the children did everything themselves including picking out the new decorations when we went shopping for this year new additions. Santas and frosty the snowmans are in abundance this year!

I am allergic to real trees, so I sent away on line and bought a fake tree you hang on your wall. It has white lights and some red bulbs on it. I put some red bows on it and it looks really pretty. I'm just trying to keep with the Spirit of Christmas like everyone else. The best thing is I don't have to clean up pine needles.

Christmas changed for us 11 years ago Dec.23rd when I became a quadriplegic so getting into the mood has changed as well. Usually, our village hosts a Christmas weekend in early December, where all the store owners hand out goodies like eggnog or cider,chocolate,candy canes etc... While you shop every store has been tastefully decorated old fashioned village style. There are sleigh rides, a pancake breakfast with Santa, and the kids can stay all day at the local mill making crafts to give as gifts to their parents. This is the weekend that gets me into the mood. Missing it, makes it much harder but there is always the standby of decorating the house, tree and of course, shopping(although its mostly online for me now).
By the way your tree looks really nice. This year I decided to try something different and went for a Silver tree with blue decor. It turned out beautiful even though the guys were real naysayers at first, they are all pleasantly surprised. The tree is actually going to Punta Cana for a January 6th celebration but first, it will spend Christmas with our family.

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that rafflecopter seems to have gone haywire. It tells me the raffle is closed and refused to let me proceed any further. Anyhow, I did all the mandatory events that you requested and I even tweeted out your site. Welcome Back to Day 2 of Our Halloween Bash!!!!

Welcome Back Everyone! Today we will be exploring the wondrous Town of Halloween. Halloween Town is my children's favourite Halloween Movie.  I thought it might be fun to put a little spin on this make-believe town. During the day Halloween Town looks like a lovely place to visit and play.  But!  At Night it turns into a spooky and scary place.  We are going to do like most Ghost Hunters and explore this town.  Let's see what do we need....   OK Everyone grab a piece of equipment and let's start exploring! To the right we have a graveyard, who wants to explore there?  Be sure to bring your camera and recorder to try and catch some EVPs.  You never know what ghostly voices might come about.  Down the road a little i another Haunted house, be sure to stay away from the windows, they are seriously creepy.
